Creamy Vegan Hot Chocolate

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a coffee girl through and through; I absolutely LOVE coffee. Something about holding a warm cup of coffee in my hand is always so comforting to me, but I woke up today and had a HUGE craving for chocolate. And how could I deny that?


I knew I wanted to make a hot chocolate, but I also wanted it to make a drink that was equally healthy and delicious; I never want to sacrifice flavor for "health." So I thought to myself, what would make this drink creamy, chocolatey, and loaded with antioxidants? And after a little experimenting, my creamy, superfood, vegan hot chocolate was born.


This cozy drink is undoubtedly the perfect way to start your day. Or, try it as a snack. Loaded with antioxidants, a natural mood-booster, iron, (from cacao), and some healthy fats, vitamin E, C, K and B-6 (from avocado), this drink surely won't disappoint! Oh, and it's SO EASY!! Recipe below! Enjoy guys :)


Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk

2 tbsp cacao powder

2 1/2 tbsp maple syrup

1 tsp vanilla

a pinch of sea salt

a spoonful of avocado


Directions:

Heat your almond milk on the stove and then pour it into your blender (I used my vitamix). Add cacao, maple syrup, vanilla, salt, and avocado. Blend for about 5 mins and enjoy!!!
